my experiences.

Through the years, I have been fortunate to partake in several projects. Here are a few of my recent projects that have helped shape who I am today.

Germany - Music Business Workshop

Over the course of four intense days in late February 2025, we formed groups with students from the U.S.A, Ireland, the Netherlands, and the UK to create and run a record label from the ground up.

My group founded LAABB RECORDS, an artist-centric label. From 9 AM to 9 PM each day, with every hour representing one month, we navigated the fast-paced reality of running a label. Our faculty played the roles of investors, industry professionals, and unexpected challenges, throwing curveballs to prepare us for real-world obstacles.

Through this experience, we learned how to secure investments, expand a company, negotiate effectively, track financials, and so much more. We very quickly realized the importance of reading contracts—a lesson that took a few big hiccups before we truly started paying attention. On top of that, we faced the all-too-real struggle of getting industry professionals to read their emails.

SXSW

In March 2025, I had the incredible opportunity to attend SXSW (March 10-14) through Columbia College Chicago and an internship at Musicbed, which my professor made possible for my classmates and I. While scouting artists, I was able to meet three of the five I had my eye on, connect with some incredible mentors, and see countless showcases and panels that helped me discover new artists I am now fans of and expand my knowledge on the industry.

Senior Networking Summit - LINK

On April 1st 2025, after months of long nights, tight deadlines, and unexpected changes, I helped create and manage The Senior Networking Summit through Columbia College Chicago and LINK, the organization where I serve as Financial Manager. The event aimed at provided graduating seniors with invaluable connections as they prepare to enter their careers. I worked tirelessly to gain sponsors, in-kind donation, and control budgets.

The Power of Persistence Scholarship Gala

Representing Columbia College Chicago’s Business Department and SXSW, I helped design an immersive activation at the 2024 Power of Persistence Gala, an event dedicated to raising funds for student scholarships.

As part of the Events Management Practicum course, my team created an interactive experience inspired by the vibrant energy of SXSW, highlighting the classes, projects, and opportunities that prepare students for industry success. We also featured talented artist managers, past student campaigns, and a "choose your own adventure" game that engaged guests in real-world decision-making.

Through the collective efforts of our team and the broader Columbia community, the gala raised over $640,000 to support student persistence and success.
